Cochlear implantation is one of the most important medical advances to have changed the lives of many children and adults.
Dr. Saeed Alghamdi

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions. Peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of God,

It gives me great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the Cochlear Implantation Conference in Saudi Arabia 2026, which brings together a distinguished group of experts, consultants and specialists in cochlear implantation, audiology and aural rehabilitation from inside the Kingdom and abroad.

Cochlear implantation represents one of the most important medical advances of our time. It has helped transform the lives of many children and adults living with hearing loss, opening wider opportunities for them to communicate, learn and take part in society. From this standpoint, the conference comes as a scientific platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge and for discussing the latest developments and technologies in the field — from diagnosis, assessment and candidate selection, through surgical techniques and the newest devices, to programming, rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.

The conference is also an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration across the related disciplines — otolaryngology, otology and skull-base surgery, audiology, speech and language therapy, aural rehabilitation, paediatrics, genetics and others — so that care is delivered as an integrated service centred on the needs of the patient and the family.

Here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with the support of our wise leadership, we continue to develop healthcare services and raise the quality of care offered to patients with hearing impairment and hearing loss. Through this conference we seek to strengthen evidence-based practice, to standardise and advance care pathways, to support training and continuing medical education, and to encourage scientific research and innovation in cochlear implantation.

I am confident that the scientific discussions, lectures and workshops the conference brings together will contribute to a genuine exchange of expertise and produce practical recommendations that raise the quality of cochlear implantation programmes in the Kingdom and support the future of care for patients with hearing loss.

In closing, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all speakers, to the members of the scientific and organizing committees, to our sponsors and supporters, and to everyone who contributed to organising this distinguished scientific event. I welcome all participants and guests, and wish everyone a successful and fruitful conference that achieves its scientific, professional and humanitarian goals.

Peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of God.
